In The Clear

We saw the allergist this week and had the skin prick test done for the most common food allergies and dust mites and dog and cat dander. Surprisingly all turned out negative! So glad we do not have to worry about food restrictions! He did say that if she breaks out again after eating wheat to bring her back and they would test again.

So later this weekend we will be trying cheese for the first time! Then a few days later some yogurt. She still likes her purees, but I am trying to get her to eat little bits of bananas and carrots. She has great pincer grasp, and loves picking up some gluten free O's that I found a few weeks ago.

We decided to finally put away the swing and the walker. We took down the mobile out of her crib about a month ago when she started to pull up. Its sad to put these "baby" things away, it means she is growing up! Where has the time gone? She is already 9 months old, has her two top teeth, waves and claps, crawls, cruises, babbles, and holds her own bottle.

We are slacking a bit on signing. I know we need to continue with adding more signs. She signed "milk" that one time, but that was it. Anything to ease the frustrations of communication would be great. She is beginning to throw more tantrums and I can see her personality coming out more each day.

Well hopefully if it isn't raining this weekend we can get out and get some fresh air. I can't wait to take Harlee for walks in the stroller when the weather stays nice! And if its raining, then I suppose we'll just play all day and maybe do some spring cleaning!

Miles LOVES cheese! He can't get enough. If her pincer is that good, give her anything she can pick up - beans, mixed veggies, pieces of meat, cheese, fruit. I was sad last night because Miles actually fed himself his entire dinner. :0( Lima beans, peaches, and hot dogs.

Lisa-you are too funny! Well at least you can give it to someone's else's baby!

Kim-Intersting combo! Its so cool that they eat the weirdest things together! We will be trying beans soon too. I have lentils, black beans, navy beans, northern, etc. (Hubby eats lots of bean variteies). Can't wait to try tons of new stuff!

How'd the cheese go?

Just fyi, I think I got carried away on the bananas and cheese cuz Briley had 2 days of HARD...and I mean, rock solid...poop and he screamed every time. It was a lot and often. I think it constipated him so we layed off of it for a few days. He loves the bananas and cheese though:-) We haven't tried a lot of other non-pureed foods just b/c he still has no teeth. I know we could try other soft foods but I just honestly haven't gotten around to it. He has had the sweet potato puffs, though and thinks those are awesome!

She's as old as our boys! So sorry about the food allergy concerns I hope things improve on that front. She really sounds like a girl ready to be on the move!
